Felker Introduces the New Self-Propelled
Track Master III Track Saw
Felker recently announced the new Track Master® III
Track Saw. The saw features an improved drive system where
a variable speed drive motor powers the saw, allowing perfectly
straight cuts and reducing error. A cooling fan increases
life expectancy of all electrical components and reduces
condensation. The air filter of the cooling fan prevents
dust from entering the drive box.
Drive and speed control have also been addressed in Felker’s
new product. The speed control on the drive motor allows
the operator to adjust speed to match material hardness.
The improved Track Master III utilizes a new cam design
which adjusts rollers more efficiently, eliminating cam
seizing due to electrolysis.
The cams are now stronger and the bottom four rollers
are machined to accommodate built-in shims on the backside
for straighter cuts. The drive chain is now stronger and
heavier to reduce stretching so there is little or no need
for chain adjustment.
Safety is always an important element of the use of saws.
With the drive motor clutch engaged and the motor off,
the clutch acts as a brake, preventing the saw from moving
on the rail system. This is ideal for transportation. Disengaging
the clutch allows for manual operation of the saw. The
on / off power switch is triple sealed for safety.
The vibration-free Track Master III rail system holds
the saw ¼” off the slab, reducing the risk
of damage to the material. A suspended system also permits
slab cuts, either vertical or horizontal. The built-in,
maintenance-free rollers on which the saw bracket rides
are self-lubricating, so there is no need for grease or
oil. The depth of cut is adjustable with the convenient
lever at the back of the saw. The width of cut can be as
small as ¼”.
Operators can also add additional vacuum cups and track
to fit certain job requirements, with lengths ranging from
2’ to 12’. The precision aluminum rails are
designed with slip-on rail shoes to protect the material
surface and rails from scratching. The advantages of adding
vacuum cups are plentiful. It cuts with no variance at
the outside edge. It minimizes the need for grout. It reduces
the time consuming process of aligning grout lines and
leveling uneven slabs.
